Algorithms for endless scroll are inherently anti-person. They are not designed to give you what you want. This touches on how we can take the internet back. Data scrapers operated by a semi-motivated person could completely change the experience of using youtube or twitter. No API? Make your own.

reminds me of the joke about people who don't know much about computers wanting AI to run everything in their house meanwhile the actual computer expert has one dot matrix printer and a gun to shoot it if it makes an unexpected sound

Agree re Hypercard. Pulling that product was Apple’s worst-ever decision. Imagine iPhones and iPads with a modern Hypercard… heresy to Apple, which rakes in well over a trillion dollars in annual App Store revenue.. 🤷‍♂️
