e.w. niedermeyer @niedermeyer.online · 15/06/2026sewing machines are just like video games... you have the main mechanic (sewing stuff together, keeping seams tidy) but every once in a while it mixes in a minigame (thread the bobbin, untangle the birds nest you created by not holding your leads taut, the dreaded needle threading) 1421422

Oscar Zeta Gundam @lmfsilva.bsky.social · 15/06/2026get one of those things that is just a bit of thin metal with two prongs you put through the eye of needle, get the thread between the prongs and then pull, first time I used one I was "... oh". 1100

Glowria Shine @pearlyescent.bsky.social · 16/06/2026Real talk, as you get better you will develop a feel for the thread between your fingers and be able to thread the needle almost without sight. Just sensing the tension on that thread end as it hits steel and then slides on through. (I take off my glasses to machine sew, and just sit real close.) 010
nora "the tea kobold" rude (they/them ze/hir) @nora.zone · 15/06/2026i really like the little needle threaders that hold your thread but give you a stiff wire loop to actually put into the fucking head of the fucking needle. i think they work for machine sewing 160
