The Kent Street Redesign online consultation is tonight 6:30-8:30 pm, we strongly urge you to sign up and show up! Link is here us06web.zoom.us/meeting/regi... This project is extremely disappointing for so many reasons. This road is an extremely uncomfortable sewer for traffic, we can do better.

A Google streets view of Kent Street showing how uncomfortable it is to use as someone outside of a vehicle. The road is 4 lanes wide with lots of asphalt, small sidewalks with power lines, and no safe infrastructure for cyclists.

Yet for some reason the scope has constantly been cut away, beginning originally at Somerset to Catherine, and now being whittled down to Somerset to James Street. The city refuses to significantly reduce parking to allow for space for pedestrians and cyclists.

WRT lane widths The idea that somehow speeds (currently averaging at nearly 60 kph) will be attenuated *without* reducing lane widths is ludicrous … those little bends are a sham Ample research indicates speed increases with wider lanes I wish they would stop trying to blow smoke up our asses
