The UN should follow suit. There's an area called the Gaza that needs a new owner. UN military protection would be in order, too. While they're at it (the UN, that is) the UN should declare Jerusalem a religious freedom zone & establish a commission comprised of leaders from religions to run it.

A Palestinian state will diminish threats from Hamas and NOT act as a gift to Hamas as Netanyahu bellingerently stated BTW, if you read the 1917 Balfour declaration it acknowledges Palestine, albeit for the occupation of Jewish people with civil and religious rights of non-Jews
