Every damn dollar spent on making sure that poor people don't make food decisions you disagree with it a dollar that did not, in fact, keep someone from going hungry. A lot of people who claim to favor a smaller government are somehow OK with large scale scrutiny of the poor.

if states don't want people buying junk food, they should be subsidizing 1. healthy, 2. easy, and 3. accessible options. when most food banks are only open during standard business hours, what are people to do? when a rotisserie chicken can only be bough with food stamps when it's cold, what then?

So Bezos is raking in the money selling the drug (not even an exaggeration as most soda has caffeine), but blaming the addicts. Considering Amazon sells soda and you can pay with EBT. (I don't know for sure that you can pay for Amazon's soda with EBT, but assume so based on this):
