Jeff Leiper and I put forward a motion to restore 5 minute LRT frequency during off-peak hours and it was defeated by the current mayor and a majority of council.

I know. It's frustrating that we can't have nice things in this city because people in the suburbs keep voting for austerity budgets for the last two decades.

We desperately need the province to kick the suburbs (and rural outskirts) out of Ottawa. Why should someone in Barrhaven or Metcalfe get a say in transit and bike lanes downtown? They have far too much say and not nearly enough to contribute (Low Taxes™) to back it up.
