HUGE win for cycling safety in Somerset Ward today! The Gladstone-Gilmour Bikeway was unanimously approved by the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee. Thank you to everyone who advocated for this important project after a terrible collision on Gladstone in 2023.

Is there a map that can be posted to see where this will cover?

Unanimously* approved. * Other than Steve Desroches dissenting on the removal of the truck route. The street is so narrow in places that there can only be a painted bike lane. But I guess Steve thinks it's okay for a family biking to swim class to have to share the road with heavy trucks.

Today at PWIC, Councillor @stevedesroches.bsky.social was the sole vote against removing a small section of Gladstone Avenue from the Urban Truck Route network. Here's what the truck network looks like downtown (with the section to be removed marked) vs. his ward of Riverside South. Same scale.

Solid win. But also so disappointing that it's not protected going further west from Preston. That hill and all the way to parkdale is awful. Terribly unsafe w THREE schools along such a short distance. Also adding a million ppl at Corso Italia. Recipe for more accidents.
