I truly cannot believe that I need to say this in 2026, but no, the City of Ottawa should not be welcoming or partnering with a virulently homophobic organization. Period. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Disaster relief group's anti-2SLGBTQ+ views draw pushback in Ottawa | CBC News

Samaritan's Purse is in Ottawa to help residents with flooded basements, but an MPP and a city councillor say the group's anti-2SLGBTQ+ positions mean it should never have been invited to the city.

This is what Corey Johnson from NYC City Council had to say about Samaritan’s Purse in 2020. Judge for yourself.

Statement from Speaker Corey Johnson on Samaritan’s Purse
May 1, 2020
New York, NY – “It is time for Samaritan’s Purse to leave New York City. This group, which is led by the notoriously bigoted, hate-spewing Franklin Graham, came at a time when our city couldn’t in good conscience turn away any offer of help. That time has passed. Their continued presence here is an affront to our values of inclusion, and is painful for all New Yorkers who care deeply about the LGBTQ community.

Agreed. But where is the city? The lack of public services allows snakes like this in.

The city has failed the people of Ottawa again. How did we have $500 million for a developer’s fever Dream but not be able to support citizens in need? The city failed us during the convoy occupation. The city failed us on the LRT. #Ottawa has a problem and people are suffering as a result.

Grinds my gears that these folks get charitable status when clearly supporting hatred of protected classes. Freedom of religion isn't freedom to hate.
