Surprised to find out that "world war 2" to refer to the sequel of the first world war predates numbered sequels for media by 18 years
"world war II" was coined by Time in 1939 but not until 1957 do we get "Quatermass 2" (and numbering sequels wouldn't become popular until the 70s)
