Addy Bross 🌈 they/xe @aebrossbooks.com · 17/10/2025It blows my mind that people use ChatGPT for "research." It literally makes no sense to me to consult a plagiarism machine that has been shown, over and over again, to be unworthy of trust and horrifically unreliable. Who looks at that and says, "That's for me!!1!"? 2345573

Iris @irisembury.bsky.social · 18/10/2025It's extremely easy. Just open it and say "give me a summary of the history of Madagascar" and it spits out something concise and easy to understand. It also massages you the whole time. "That's a great question, you're really cutting the heart of this issue in a thoughtful way." It's like drugs. 020
Robin @robinroza.bsky.social · 17/10/2025I've been using it for work to navigate software solutions and it's really helpful. For instance, "How do I do this in HubSpot" and I get a super fast response that is about 90% accurate. However, I feel so dirty using it. 020
JacqueBlue @jacqueblue.bsky.social · 17/10/2025Even worse, using it for a relationship! Hell, I'm fucking tired of being completely alone, but if I wanted an abusive relationship, I would have stayed in the one I had. At least I would get laid once in awhile. 🤦 110
Graham Cummins @grahamiancummins.bsky.social · 17/10/2025It's useful where the output is rapidly testable. This is why people can use it effectively for small-scale programming problems. It's not that it's right. It's wrong 4/5 times in my experience. OTOH, it can guess 5 times fast, and we can detect the 4 failures fast. 110
