FaunaHub @faunahub.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Whale sharks look prehistoric and somehow gentle — filter-feeding giants with a mouth like a cave entrance. Dream marine encounter: whale shark, manta, or orca? 2050468
There is no Dana only Zuul 🇨🇦 @smudgiesmom.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Whale shark with manta as a very close second. Also I went to the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta and swam with their whale sharks ((and manta and 16,000 other amazing fish). I’m in the font with the crooked pony tank and the ✌️ fingers. It was LIFE CHANGING. youtu.be/McymjR5POI4youtu.beDana swims with whale sharksYouTube video by tarafrostphotography 151
CHICAGO NEWS BENCH @chicagonewsbench.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Do you know why whale sharks look prehistoric? Because they are! All animals pre-date human history. 000

Andi @anddar.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Manta, I loved them even as a kid, they fly through the water and it's just so cool. 020
Losd @losdemas.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Years ago now, but can't tell you how disappointed I was when a neighbouring dive team saw a whale shark (Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras) and we missed it. So yeah, whale shark all day long. 000

Raise Good Ruckus @raisegoodruckus.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I think I would be less nervous in a marine encounter with a whale shark or a manta ray than I would with an orca. Orcas have teeth and a mean humor about them. LOL! 010
Diaspora2022 @diaspora2022.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I’ve snorkeled with whale sharks, and seen manta rays MANY times diving, so. Guess I’d have to pick orca… 👍🏽 120
Aoife @aoife-rose.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Whale shark is the only one I have not accidentally swam with. I've actually sat inside the mouth of an orca. She was captive at a sea world in the 70s. I was a toddler and while my Mom was talking to the trainer, orca surfaced, opened it's mouth and I climbed in. Surprisingly did not get eaten. 130

Human Gaian @human-gaian.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Orca, for sure. Whale sharks are lovely, impressive and huge, but they need to keep moving. Mantas are amazing too, but also fly by. Orcas will hang out with you (if they want to), and allow you to gaze lovingly upon their stunning beauty. 😃 030
