I don't think concern trolling is where Monbiot's coming from, to be fair. I think he's wrong, but sincere, in saying that moderating some positions could win the power to make changes. It's a classic social democrat / reformist position.

I think you're right re. George, but also, why is it ALWAYS the left positions that have to moderate while the right constantly doubles down & gets more extreme. The frustration level has hit breaking point, and people are starting to refuse to lower expectations

I think if he's sincere, then he's a cretin. But I don't think he's so stupid as to believe that Labour was ever at all willing to go into a coalition with the Greens anywhere, at all. To be fair.
