I watched Florida taken apart by corrupt rightwing governors who destroyed so much. Oregon might not be perfect, but it has a functional government that has preserved many human rights other states have lost. Please don't take that for granted-- reelect Kotek as governor. Hold fast.

Functional government is easy to overlook because it looks ordinary: agencies staffed, laws enforced, records kept, and public services still working. That quiet capacity is what protects rights in practice.

I just want to say, too, from a place of deep and abiding grief, that Florida once had fact-based government that served communities and had good land management. It took so little to tear all of that apart once the rightwing and developers took control.

Drazan is just a right-wing MAGA Republican. Her economic policy consists of tax breaks for corporations and opening up state lands for logging. If she is elected, it will be a major disappointment for so many.
