ME/CFS Science @mecfsscience.org · 30/05/202617) They also measured brain-wide neuronal activity and report activation of brain regions associated with pain and fatigue, although this is a bit more speculative (hard to interpret what brain regions and signaling mean). 180
ME/CFS Science @mecfsscience.org · 30/05/202618) Overall, this is an impressive, in-depth paper providing evidence for autoimmunity in a subset of LC patients. But a decisive result of identifying a specific antibody that is pathological and causes symptoms, wasn’t achieved (yet). 3122
Didier @medidier.bsky.social · 30/05/2026Do we know if those LC had PEM? Other subtypes? All major researchers have now agreed this is imperative when conducting LC/ME research but they keep failing to follow their own guidelines... 120
valebodi.bsky.social @valebodi.bsky.social · 30/05/2026I doubt a single aab will be found to be the culprit. Instead it’s more like several aabs in a sort of à la carte menu for every case. The dorsal root ganglia findings are very interesting. Imo an international consortium presiding over brain & spinal cord autopsies, DRG included, should be built. 130
Susan K @susankmecfs.bsky.social · 30/05/2026I think one of the most interesting findings of the study was the increase in activating Fcγ receptor function in LC - assessed via antibody-dependent cellular phagocytosis using MED20 as an antigen 020
