Electricity prices in the UK are negative for the next few hours. Thanks to all the green energy being generated. I built a little home display using an obsolete Android tablet. Lets me know when I'm getting paid to cook pizza. Join Octopus and we both get £50 share.octopus.energy/metal-dove-988

Colourful graph displayed on a old tablet.

This is *nuts*! We were told that nuclear would make electricity too cheap to meter. Instead, renewables are providing 77% of the UK's electricity right now - so we're going to be paid to use power for most of the day.

Colourful graph showing electricity prices at minis 2p. Negative prices continue until 1600.

@edent.tel Ooh, anything fancy in the tablet conversion? Or just something dirt simple like a HTML dashboard in a full-screen browser?

How often will the leckie prices go negative over the winter months do you reckon? And do you have a big fck off battery that is bolted to a wall, or a smaller more portable one??
