Blackblooms (indiegamedev) @blackblooms.bsky.social · 17/04/2026The curse of being an indie game Dev, is that if you want people to try your game, you either need to be extremely annoying or somehow get other people to be extra annoying for you. In either case, a lot of people are going to get annoyed. 1622210
David William Sheridan @dwsheridan.bsky.social · 17/04/2026Just tell everybody they’re not allowed to try it—make up a variety of bullshit reasons—and watch them storm your battlements to get the thing you said they couldn’t have. Humans are weird. 030
Whouis Ticlese @heuristiclese.bsky.social · 17/04/2026How annoying do I need to be to get 4 concurrent players to test a 4 player game? I literally wrote computer players so at least robots are playing my game, but I'm too craven to post it anywhere. I need art. But the core gameplay loop is novel (I hope!), and more than art I need player feedback. 120
nowhere 🏳️🌈 @nowhere.bsky.social · 17/04/2026I will say promoted indie gameplay vids on here have gotten me more than once, and didn't annoy me 010
Yuronk @comradeyuronk.bsky.social · 17/04/2026on the topic of being extremely annoying about trying my game... 010
Gentleman33 @gentleman-33.bsky.social · 17/04/2026Whatever, go my indie game dev. (be annoying)media.tenor.coma picture of a bug on a pink surface with the words `` whatever , go my scarab '' .Alt: a picture of a bug on a pink surface with the words `` whatever , go my scarab '' . 060
Two-Headed Boy @two-headedboy.itch.io · 17/04/2026Yeah, this is why I throw as many goodwill reposts as is reasonable, even to projects I don't know. For my own work, I can't see any route but self-deprecation: bsky.app/profile/two-...Two-Headed Boy@two-headedboy.itch.ioMy favorite section of my game: the frat guys who are obsessed with ethical hedonism. Doing my best to post all the jokes, so no one has to buy it. #gbstudio #gameboy #pixel #indiegame 030
Rumin InLove @rumininlove.bsky.social · 17/04/2026Game devs deserve to be as annoying as they want. They've earned it. 031
🇵🇸Corals @corals210.bsky.social · 17/04/2026true, if your trying to make decent money as an indie you need to be loud and annoying. But if your doing something genuine rest assured that you'll attract more genuine people, that will connect to your work in a deeper way.❤️ GO INDIE!!! 040
Blackblooms (indiegamedev) @blackblooms.bsky.social · 17/04/2026That is why i relentlessly try to convert the deltarune players. They are the most powerful. 1180
nesaM Doom @fackindoom.bsky.social · 17/04/2026I think a healthy amount of self promotion is good. Some people take it way too far and bludgeon people with it. 010
JessicaFayeCreative @jessicafayecreates.bsky.social · 17/04/2026I’m not even kidding you, I feel a little emotional about how much I relate to this. 010
Ben L @bnej80.bsky.social · 17/04/2026Very sad time in life when you first realise that having an excellent product isn't going to automatically get noticed. I had hopes online platforms would make it better but they made it worse I think. It was easier to take classified ads and get people to mail you for a disk for $5 030
Torgrim Neighen @raisoue.bsky.social · 17/04/2026Pretty much how PR works yea. The art of annoying people from the right angle. 021
