This reminds me of my sister’s story😩 she was valedictorian & the week of her 18th bday she was arrested out w/ friends for something minor. derailed her whole life, & the trauma sent her into a full blown mental breakdown, which has ended up in multiple hospitalizations yrs later.

If you haven't tried this already, look into your local chapter of NAMI. They might be able to hook you up with some pro bono mental health care too.

I used to be a bereavement counselor. I've worked with a number of teens experiencing traumatic death losses. I hope you get enough donations for both her legal representation and mental health supports for her. She sounds like a wonderful young lady.
