NEW: I wrote a profile of Kamala Harris at a pivot point. She wants to be heard but it is not clear what she wants to say. • Her 2028 thoughts • Her texts with Gavin • The $$ in her new PAC • The calls she's been making (Zohran etc) Lots more 🎁 —> www.nytimes.com/2025/12/09/u...

Kamala Harris Isn’t Ready to Be Written Off

I think we reached the end of the honeymoon. Candidates don’t usually run again for nomination and when they do they don’t usually win. For every Nixon Cleveland and Trump there have been Adlai Stevensons and William Jennings Bryans

Harris had her chance and didn’t deliver. She should step aside, just as others did for her.

She may not be ready to be written off, but the Democratic electorate has already done so.

As someone who has voted for her to be my Attorney General, to be my US Senator, to be my Vice President, and to be my President, I can assure you, I am all out of votes for Harris. Do not want.

Comments section is pretty incredible. Not one single person supporting the idea of Harris even entering the 2028 race and basically everybody on the same page that she stands for nothing and refuses to answer questions. It will be a quick flameout if she decides to run.

In other words, she has nothing to say but still wants to be President. Kamala in a nutshell.

Actually, Goldmacher should be written off. Really Shane, find another avocation. There are plenty of outlets on social media willing to print such shallow and sloppy musings.

I’ll do it. I’ll go ahead and write her off no problem

Move on, make room. This is fucking tiring. You completely fucked up and that’s the only message we should remember (ie to never use your campaign manager again).

I won't vote for her again because she has been self-promoting as Trump tries to establish authoritarian rule. How is she using her influence to defend democracy and serve "The People" right now? Real leaders lead even when they don't hold elective office.

I voted for her but she needs to go the path of Al Gore and Hillary. Let it go girl. Stand aside with dignity. Maybe a different opportunity will present itself, à la John Kerry.

it’s ok, we don’t want to hear it anyway.

"She wants to be heard but it is not clear what she wants to say" is a great description of her 2024 campaign

Not sure what she wants to say? She should start with telling us why she conceded so rapidly and there were absolutely no lawsuits. Every swing state?!? Ok momala.

Hey Shane. Please keep posting your articles here. The Times website is awful for finding out who wrote what article. It would nice if you could get an alert.

Good lord, the squeamishness of the Times to print something as anodyne as "fuck it" really twists y'all into creative knots, doesn't it? Your readers are adults and would be grateful to be treated as such.

Then she needs to read the room. I appreciate that she in some respects was set up to fail because Biden didn’t know when to step aside and she didn’t get a full ramp up to her campaign. But she also ran against a very unpopular candidate and lost pretty decisively. So no thanks.
