I think this framing is far too credulous to this student, and where it is they would be getting vocabulary such as this.

Totally bizarre for them to bend over backwards to insist he isn’t an antisemite, but as a teacher I can vouch that part of the problem here is that you only need like 25% of the kids to actually be getting this shit on their phones, and a bunch more will just pick it up from them

This is exactly what I was thinking. I don't think people understand how kids work when they say that he MUST be a vitriolic nazi. "Everyone at school says it" makes a lot of sense to me, and I was kind of bewildered to see people in the comments crucifying this kid 😅 I hope he realizes

In my NJ high school everyone used “Polack” as an insult, including the sizable cohort of Polish-American kids. Teens just love to do mimickry

The article fumbled the framing real bad, but “far right has succeeded in making antisemitic terms into brainrot that kids are mindlessly repeating like they were shouting ‘gyatt’ or ‘skibidi’ a few years ago” is a big deal terrifying story.
