I don't think the people expressing surprise about things the Trump administration is doing understand how absolutely fucking crazymaking each of your posts is for Black and Indigenous folks who called *all of this* and sat through people talking about "respecting norms" for years

Republicans haven't accepted "national norms" for the best part of three decades. It's just become more visible now because collective decisions have finally reached a critical mass. Liberals have been sleepwalking on non-existent norms while watching leopards eat their faces for a very long time.

I spent a lot of time (still do) going this is bad! this is not good! do you see how norms mean noooothingggg and I got called a doomer. I end up feeling like an idiot when a ray of optimism shines through and gets crushed anyway. I'm tired of being right about bad things.
