This tiresome debate about US vs European food has similarities to other 'debates' on more sensitive topics. I don't care if your food is 'good' or 'bad'. It's a form of culture, and if I'm lucky enough to be invited to join you in a meal, I'm going to be honoured. And say nice things.

Food is like music. We may have a predilection for one genre or another, but all but the most stubborn will admit that good metal is better than bad country, that poor punk can't hold a candle to quality pop - however you mix it, quality is quality. Good US food beats bad UK food and vice versa.

I agree, however, don't some other countries have stricter guidelines on what they allow their citizens to eat as opposed to the USA? And don't they also not accept certain foods/meats from the USA for this reason?

One of my favorite things is seeing how foods from one culture are interpreted in another culture. Mexican food in Mexico is different than in the US. How are the Mexican restaurants in France? Italy? China?

Well there are cultures I prefer or don't. We all have preferences. However... All food is good everywhere if it's cooked right by the right person. And people love when you are amazed by their cultures food. It's like they shared their secrets and you love them for it

yes European culture is very very different from American culture. I frequently find it easier to understand other Europeans regardless of any language barrier.

I find European foods in general to be quite enjoyable. Some areas tend to be a bit bland (like England), but then again I'm used to food that is quite "loud" in taste. However I find European "habits" and practices to be far superior to life in the US.

I’ve been to Europe & eaten some amazing food over there that created some wonderful memories. For instance I don’t usually like fish BUT, I would happily eat fish & chips in a rolled up piece of paper again if I’m ever back in England. I don’t get people who don’t want to experience another culture
