I saw this post & I'm desperately sorry that this student is having to go through this. I'm sharing bc it drives me up the wall when I see comments like 'Why don't people paint like this <renaissance style fine art & etc> anymore? Where are they?' They're everywhere, but they aren't getting funded.

I was forced to carry all my oil paintings copies back home on my little electric bike, and this is how my tiny muddy apartment walls look like right now.' There are 4 photos of many incredibly done fine arts paintings being held in hand and hung on walls.

This is a level of talent that is breathtaking and my heart breaks that she and other art students are out in the cold now. The world is bleak without art made by human hearts and minds.

God each one of those is someone's mindset, skill set, their family member put to ink. A labor of love made real. Being told it's gonna be torn away and if it's DURING THIS COLD WEATHER. This was a rescue mission. Jesus I can't imagine if you commuted by bus. What happens then?!?

I would buy something like this but I find it hard to find artists, esp perhaps the ones just starting out. The ones I do find are often super expensive. Any tips for getting started?

hey, i wasn’t sure you were aware because i just learned this information myself, but the person in the screenshot has some pretty serious accusations of producing CSAM (like of actual children) and racism. please don’t take this the wrong way bc i do agree with the premise of the post!

Arts are severely undervalued & underfunded, especially today. Art programs across nations are getting axed, leaving artists with fewer options to pursue a formal education. Income opportunities for artists are severely dwindling. We are collectively getting robbed of any and all creative expression
