I know this is a small gesture, but you have to start somewhere. This is helping me reconsider many of my buying habits altogether.

I honestly don't get this. If I wait a day to buy paper towels at Target, how does that impact them at all?

The rich fucks need our hard earned dollars folks. The less they steal from us the more power we have.

That’s exactly what happened to me. First I boycotted Amazon and target, now I’m all “why do I need any more crap”. I like it. Fuck capitalism’s stranglehold.

It’s only small if we don’t act together. We outnumber the millionaires and billionaires. That scares them 😈

In Canada we are boycotting every day. It has made enough of a difference that it's in the news and businesses are responding. It makes a difference, especially if enough people do it.

Dislike Target anyway. The kids that work there are all right, the corp is annoying.

I think it would be more effective to target local businesses. When you see a maga sign or other behavior that supports MAGA in any small business, let them know that we will loudly boycott their business.

Another thing we can do is think about what companies our managed 401Ks are invested in. If you can gather some support you might get them to pull investments from offending companies instead of looking only at maximizing growth.

I started this a couple of months ago. I went to the websites of brands I used to buy off Amazon & now buy direct from the site. Or, we simply shifted our perspective; do we NEED the thing? W/o my impulse buying, we've actually been paying down credit cards & adding to savings.

MAGAs are doing February 30th.

Oooo, is this one really happening!? I thought it would be just like every other "boycott" we've been hearing about since 2020 that never seem to amount to anything.

I'm voting with my dollars. It's basically a four year low/no buy. No new clothes, no Target, no Starbucks, no Amazon, etc. If I have to get someone a gift, it's going to be from a small business.

Dee, but not THAT Dee, the other one. @deetoriadee.bsky.social · 16/02/2025

The key to this kind of action is not not over buy before or after. Just buy as normal, just not on that day.

first we need to find who is behind this mess. Trump is too dumb to have planned this. We need to fix our eyes at the HEritage foundation and at the mises institute. the key word is ANarcho capitalism.

Started boycotting Target when they axed their DEI policies just in time for Black History Month. I've got Blackout on my calendar for Feb 28. It's not much, but it's the least I can do.

Alessandro Rigolon @alerigolon.bsky.social · 16/02/2025

What are the things I buy regularly from places like Amazon that I could buy elsewhere? What about Target? There are alternatives and costs aren’t that different. As @activetowns.bsky.social has called it, it’s the PITA (Pain In The Ass) factor
