AI is not dangerous because it will become a superintelligence or learn how to do our jobs better than us. It's dangerous because the people behind it are willing to do anything to push the narrative of its inevitability. GPT-4 didn't kill Suchir Balaji - OpenAI did.

It’s no surprise to me that a person who draws the ire of multi billion dollar companies and the ensuing mountain of lawsuits designed to overwhelm him, kills himself. No foul play required aside from the felony effort to make him feel he’s hopelessly in over his head and his life is ruined.
