The best part is that it can still be a violin or a guitar but it is always a drumstick.

Just started NG+ on Silent Hill f (I know I'm behind) and man... this game is immaculately written. It's been a long time since a game's narrative had my head swimming at all hours, piecing everything together and unpacking its myriad of nuance.

I also can't see Larian about-face either. They'll cling to the vague terminology like investors want but there's no conclusive evidence that they're doing anything other than data comp or frame gen or procedural gen with their ML models. Remember the real enemy. Don't make more than there are.

000

Zylach @zylach.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

They'll say they're using AI because that's technically what they're using and I'm sure investors are pushing them to use the term but that doesn't tell the public what it is. It's too vague and that's how the LLM market wants it -- stolen valor and all that. I can't see Capcom suddenly about-face.

Zylach @zylach.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

My stance on Capcom's "AI engine" upgrades to the RE Engine are the same I have with Larian using "AI." The dialogue has been so poisoned by the people pushing LLM's and AGI that the term "AI" can now refer to basically any program. Anyone using basic ML is getting caught in the crossfire.

If it still has its hooks in you after the first playthrough, the mods for DOS2 inject so much extra stuff into the formula. Helaene's class mods double the class and skill options and are very well tuned plus they add extra mechanics to play around to deepen the game's strategy.

It's particularly funny with MP4 because Retro was supposed to have learned this lesson in Primes 1 and 2. Fans HATED on the final backtracking sections of those games and Prime 4, instead, turned it 100 with the crystals. Not the same Retro I guess...

This was a fun project - the model wanted pics of herself with a flaming sword. I provided the karabela and took part in the brainstorming with the photographer to find a way that doesn't damage the blade. It turned out quite spectacular, and the blade made it through safely.

Yellow paint complainers lack gaming history knowledge. It's always been there from vines to chain link textures, hell, even roads/pathways were the first yellow paint. Yellow paint exists now because of environment complexity with no uniform lighting and you need something to pop at the player.

I also just watched this today. It was a film that stole that time right from under me. Had no idea those two hours had passed until the credits rolled. After seeing all the video game adaptations, it was so nice seeing a Backrooms media actually try something serious.

Only 36 days until Halloween... "Abyssal Ritual" Oil on panel for @hitpointpress.bsky.social

Oil painting in dark teal and bright orange. The painting is of a dark forest with craggy trees. In the center there is a large glowing orange pit opening in the forest floor with strange bat-like creatures coming out. A girl in a flowing dress hovers over the glowing hole in a witchy pose. It looks like they're all having a pretty good spooky time.

I played this game as a kid and remember there being some odd bug where, when it launched, it would change the resolution to be rotated 90 degrees on my monitor so, as a kid that didn't understand pc's yet, I flipped my monitor to play it. It was a vibe despite that. I think I still have the disc.
