Blergh. I used to think of myself as kind of a horror surrealist artist but nowadays I don't know what I'm doing with my life. Which I guess is kind of on brand. NoAI.

Trying to figure out how to say "fairy" and "ferry" in a way that makes them sound different. And without making any of them sound like "furry". I feel like there should be some small indie game called "Furry fairy's ferry" where you are a furry fairy, ferrying people across a lake.

Congratulations, Quartz! After a decade of #MinCup, this key rock-forming mineral of optical tricks is the #MinCup26 Champion! Due to intense manipulation attempts in the final hours, the exact winning margin is still being audited. Please join us tomorrow for celebration!

One thing with generative LLMs in indie game development is that now, more than ever before, a game can look on the surface as if a huge team spent years making it only to then reveal that the actual human design choices wouldn't go past a second draft under any circumstances.

You know how posts have a language selection? It used to be that it changed to whatever I had selected last - if I had answered a post in swedish the next time I wanted to post something swedish was selected. But now it seems to always turn to swedish no matter what.

Listening to british stuff on youtube and it's amazing how british english can sound so smart no matter what the person says, but also so stupid no matter what the person says, all depending on dialect. Though, I guess that's true for all languages, if I think about it.

What it feels like taking photos of shiny things.
A hand holding up a painted pendant, but it has a shiny surface and the light hits it in such a way that it's very hard to see what's on it.

I know we live in the overstimulation era of the internet but I for one think not every video needs a voiceover and background music. 😐

Added a thin layer of gold over red on a pendant and the effect is so cool where it gets orange-red in shadow but simply gold with direct light on it! An effect that simply doesn't show at all on a photo or at least not when I'm trying to take photos of it.

Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux has done some good sculptures! Sure, most of them have a bit of that rather typical "classic" look. Nothing Earth-shattering. But inspiring and I really like the facial expressions on many of them!

And here's my moon art for the harvest moon last night as a gallery. I do make a lot of moon inspired art 🤔😅 #moon #harvestMoon #FullMoon #moonArt #sketch #artSky #art
Sketchbook page with an inkpen sketch in it.

A sickle moon with a content looking face turned toward the upper left, the eye just an empty hole like in a mask.

Below that an electric guitar with a glittery pickguard held by two hands coming out of the dark background.

The background is a starry sky turning into a stylized, silhouette forest made up of naked trees diagonally from the bottom right to the upper left. Calendar turned sketchbook.

Inkpen sketch of a portrait of a female figure with a giant moon for a head.

Her face, on the other hand, is the appropriate size for the rest of her body, thus looking very small on the big moon surface. She is looking at a melting ice-cream scoop, with a pattern resembling planet earth, in a cone that she is holding in her hand.

She is wearing some kind of futuristic looking space suit.

In the background a dark starry sky.Calender turned sketchbook on a grey surface.

Inkpen sketch portrait of a female figure with a moon for a head, the upper right part is designed as a sickle moon, the inside is black with the craters shaped by white dots. On the inside the facial features are created by white lines, except for the upper lip and eyes, which are created as usual.

She is holding up a hand to her lips in a shushing motion, the other hand is bracing the huge moon head.

She is wearing a crinkly dress.

In the background there's a night sky with stars and clouds.Photograph of a calendar turned sketchbook lying on a dark grey surface.

Black and white inkpen sketch. The motif is designed to look like a portrait

A mask is hovering above empty upper clothing.

The clothes are minimalist and strict, a heavy fabric collarless jacket with round, decorative buttons, inside there's a white shirt with a simple round standing collar.

The mask is a sickle moon shape with a curled up upper tip, below it's designed like a human face, the inside of the moon shape is empty.

Behind all that an empty, starry night sky, the moon is in the middle of the masks eye hole where it looks like an eye, to the left a star also looks like an eye where an eye hole would be.

Joubin's squid (Joubiniteuthis portieri) is a funky, little squid that looks like one of those head massagers. It has a max mantle length of 9 cm and a long tail which is thought to mimic sinophores. They are also the closest relatives to the even more lanky bigfin squids (Magnapinna) #SQUIDtember

Now she's all dressed up and ready for her tea party 🐙🧡 What do you think about the finished piece? Would you like to join her? #octopus #artsky #sketch #surrealism #art #originalArt #tea
Calender turned sketchbook on a wooden surface.

In it an inkpen sketch of a skinny, elegantly clothed young woman with an octopus for a head, the tentacles curling in front of her.

She is wearing an elegant black satin corsage vest with a short sleeved white blouse underneath, a short, black pleated skirt, nearly knee high suede stilettos and under that bright suspender stockings with an octopus like pattern on it.

She is sitting, legs crossed in a very upright stance, on a vintage style wooden chair at a fitting café table, a cup of tea delicately held up with one finger and braced by the rest with one hand, the other hand is reaching for a cupcake with a creamy topping on a plate on the table.

On the coffee table there's, from left to right, a simple vase with some plain, stylized flowers and leaves in it, a sugar dispenser, a saucer for the tea cup and behind that the plate with the cupcake.

Above her an elegant lamp with beads and string hanging from it.

I am once again whining a bit about how phone cameras take away colour and increase sharpness, effectively ruining the shine and softness of any kind of paint. There are solutions but I have a cold and am also lazy. Complaining is more low effort.

Digital painting of a raven standing on a rock with back to viewer exposing the patterns of feathers on its wings and head turned in profile to the left. There is a blue sky with faint clouds and pink sunrise just appearing. The pale blue and pink light is reflecting off the raven's feathers, evoking the pink, blue, and white of the trans pride flag.

again, if a voting bloc supports the candidate that says "we need to eradicate ALL maple trees," you're not going to peel away their support by saying "well, we propose to only eradicate HALF of them" because you've agreed that maple trees are a problem and why would they vote for a half measure

I don't comment on things on youtube so just moving this over here to write down some thoughts (so I can get them out of my head) Comics with different languages is, I think, rather fun problem solving. It all depends on how different languages are used. These are good ways to do it, but...
