Someone called ICE on this sweet family who was running a Kebab restaurant. They have had a case open with with USCIS since 2016. They would feed the homeless, people with disabilities, and people who just couldn’t afford to pay them. There is a GFM to offer support for legal fees and lost income.

I’ve been asked by the Emanet family to set up a GoFundMe to help cover legal fees and support income while Jersey Kebab remains closed.

During the morning hours of Tuesday, February 25, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) warrantlessly picked up members of the Emanet family, Celal and Emine Emanet, from Jersey Kebab, located at 150 Haddon Avenue, Haddon Township, NJ 08108.

The Emanet family has an open case with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and has been waiting since 2016 for a decision on their case. USCIS has not decided whether to approve or deny their green card application for the past 9 years. While waiting for their case to be decided upon, Celal and Emine Emanet were left without a status.

They are contributing members of society and taxpayers with a five-year valid business license. Celal and Emine own and operate Jersey Kebab, a beloved Mediterranean restaurant across from the Haddon Township Municipality and Police building. The husband-and-wife pair own and manage the restaurant together, a hub for the community, and regularly feed underprivileged

members of the community - the sign on the door stating, “Free to anyone with a disability, homeless, or simply cannot afford it.” The couple start prep work together at 9 am and close up shop at 8:30 pm.

At the end of the night, Celal and Emine come back home where they live with their four children (Muhammed, Zeynep, Hamza, Hale), daughter-in-law (Hale), two grandchildren (Ali and Omer), and two cats (Oreo and Almond). Muhammed (25), the manager at Jersey Kebab, who attended Rutgers-Camden, is a husband and father to two children. Zeynep (23) is a Swarthmore College graduate and works at a local civil rights nonprofit organization. Their younger son, Hamza (15), and younger daughter, Hale (13), cannot imagine life without mom and dad together.

While Celal has been released from custody with an ankle monitor, Emine has been placed into the Elizabeth Detention Center in Elizabeth, New Jersey, awaiting her bond trial. This situation is especially devastating for their 15-year-old son, Hamza, who has autism.

Deporting Emine would cause Hamza immense distress, as he only speaks limited Turkish and relies on the specialized services available to him

here in New Jersey. Uprooting him from this support system would have severe consequences for his well-being.

Emine is not a flight risk - she is a mother, community member, and neighbor. Neither Celal nor Emine have criminal records or prior orders of removal by an immigration judge. She needs to be released on bond so she can return home. Until she is released, the restaurant, which is their main source of income, is closed. So please help out any way you can.

A sign in the restaurant window of a Kebab restaurant reads “To Anybody with a Disability or Homeless or Simply Cannot Afford”

While she certainly knew better days, the massive presence of her rusted bones cannot be understated. When we can only imagine her past, the range of possibilities becomes the true poetic nature of the transformed object. More black mass exploration with this #Wreckage

My Ignatz Award-winning comic CRY WOLF GIRL is now available as a digital PDF for the first time outside my patreon! cousineggplant.itch.io/cry-wolf-girl A reimagining of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" this book is so good they translated it to French!

The cover of the comic "Cry Wolf Girl". A girl kneels with her eyes wide open and her head in the mouth of an enormous white wolf.

A sample page from "Cry Wolf Girl". While finding a clump of hair in the woods, a girl remembers her mother warning her not to "cry wolf" before she died.

A page from "Cry Wolf Girl". In the middle of the night, a girl is jolted awake by the howling of a wolf, and her mind begins to race.

A page from "Cry Wolf Girl". In a large hall, village elders question the veracity of a girl's claims that there are wolves in or near the village.

i love a woman covered in blood #wip #dungeonmeshi #deliciousindungeon #farcille i go to sleep now. no one feed this to a robot while i sleep, i'll render it tomorrow

a sketch of a puddle of blood, 2 pairs of feet bracket the frame. One person is standing, the other is laying down. There is a tree-like staff standing in the blood, in front of the person who is standing. Reflected in the blood, you see an elf (Marcille) holding her staff with her hair free. Behind her, Falin in her dragon form looms ominously.

We're unsure when the wound is suppose to close and the ER only gave the cat 3 days of pain killers so sending her to a normal Vet visit. If it's not too much to ask, could I be spared a few dollars just to cover the cost on my last credit card. It would help a lot 🙇

i don't know what i'm doing

a comic strip that i made using a bunch of tools in clip studio paint incorrectly, mostly the 3d model tool. The bodies are distorted or angled incorrectly, and surrounded by sloppily applied brush patterns and other built in effects.
it reads as follows:
I do not understand how to use clipstudio paint. people keep telling me it's the best software for making comics in but i just get confused whenever i try to use it. i see people make amazing stuff in it but this is what happens when i try. I still draw my comics in some software i learned how to use after i pirated it when i was 9. it's not good for making comics in. it's hard to give yourself time to learn new tools or techniques when you have a regular deadline. do not tell me how to use it, I will not learn. I do not know how I did any of this.
