This just in, there was this poll over on Mastodon: "How frequently do you chat with #LLM?" (I'm part of the 5.4%, mind.) mastodon.social/@falcennial/... I wonder what this would look like *here*. 🤔 #robots #agenticWork

Screenshot of a Mastodon poll asking, “How frequently do you chat with LLM?” Results: 61.1% not at all, 15.6% a few times per month, 17.8% multiple times per week, and 5.4% over one hour per day, from 7.8K votes.

Explainer reply below the poll, reading:

> this is a 3 monthly follow up, on request.
>
> by participating you help us all to see how things have changed for fediverse users' LLM usage over time, which is very cool of you. thank you very much to the seven thousand, seven hundred and ninety-six community representatives who participated in the previous one, and special mention to the one hundred and seven people who share data exercises around: you shine a light on the world by including your friends.

Useful #n8n idea I had the other day: Workflows that store data to a data table *also* include an incoming webhook that returns all the data. Everything in the same place = less of me searching for things.
A n8n workflow. In the upper row, there's the main "track", a schedule trigger that does an HTTP request and that inserts a row into a local n8n data table.

The lower row is a Webhook module getting the data from the table, and returning it as JSON data.

Good idea, that! But is the `@page { size: …` stuff part of something I'm not getting, or a bug?

Open the menubar menu → Configure Channels → in the window, pick Last.fm from the sidebar. Here's the docs page: docs.actions.work/listening-po... If that doesn't work for you, then you've found a bug, which needs speedy fixing 😅

I'm calling it: Totally healthy as a horse. Will claim that a big strong horse walked up to him right after the physical, tears streaming down his big horse nose, saying… wait, is it called a nose? I think it's beak, isn't it. "Beak" is a great word, actually. He came up with it, nobody called it …

"Upgrade to macOS Tahoe", #macOS #Tahoe tells me. That is some next-level Apple Intellomogince shit, cool
A macOS Tahoe system notification banner with a dark background. On the left is the silver macOS System Settings gear icon. Bold text reads, "Upgrade to macOS Tahoe" with the subtext, "Discover new features to unlock your productivity and creativity on Mac." Below the text are two pill-shaped buttons: "Install Tonight" on the left and "Remind Me Later" on the right.

Nothing *wrong*! It's clean, and I like that. But it's a more complex service than, say, brrr.now, and because of that it looks more complex to navigate and set up. I love the flexibility, but for example: I don't use groups, sounds, and hooks, so it's mostly a lot of empty sections.
A screenshot of a web dashboard interface, likely for the Pushover notification service, shown in dark mode. It is divided into several settings sections:

1. "Your Devices" shows one row with an iOS icon, a redacted/pixelated device name, status "Enabled" in green, and client "Pushover for iOS 5.0.2".
2. "Your E-Mail Aliases" shows a redacted email address ending in "@pomail.net" with settings configured to "Deliver to all of your devices (default)".
3. "Your Delivery Groups" shows "No delivery groups created yet."
4. "Your Custom Sounds" shows "No custom sounds uploaded yet."
5. "Your Webhooks" shows "No webhooks created yet."
6. "Your Applications" shows "Claude" with an orange flower icon, and a partially cut-off entry for "Keyboard Maestro" at the very bottom.

don't forget about tokens wasted
A top-down view of a wooden embroidery hoop holding cream-colored Aida cloth with a neat cross-stitch pattern. The stitched text in dark blue reads “a token saved is a token earned,” framed by a simple green border with small decorative corner motifs. To the right of the hoop lies a sewing needle threaded with dark blue floss, loosely coiled on a light fabric background

I love sunology.eu for their website footer's language/locale selector alone. That thing is peak France, and I mean that with a lot of love. 😂

Closing remark from the blog post:

> ### Make Computer Do Thing
>
> I started programming in the 80s. Every language I've learned since then has been a means to an end. That is, a new way to make computers do things I wanted them to do. AI-assisted coding feels like the latest in that progression. Not a discontinuity per se, just another rung on the ladder.
>
> But I'm trying to hold that lightly. Because the ladder itself is changing, the building it's leaning against is changing, and I'd be lying if I said I knew exactly where it's going.
>
> What I do know is this: I still get the same hit of satisfaction when something I thought up and built actually works. The code got there differently than it used to, but the moment it runs and does the thing? That hasn't changed in my over 40 years at it.

Well, there goes my plan of making #Spotify support available in #ListeningPost. I can either allow 5 (five) people access to my app in dev mode (good for, you know, development), or I can ask Spotify for upgrading it to non-dev mode. But those rules: 250k MAU just to be able to apply‽ GTFO
Please note that as of May 15th 2025, Spotify only accepts applications only from organizations (not individuals). For more information on this update, read here.

Application must be sent through a company email by using this form. Check out the implementation requirements below to make sure your company is compatible before submitting your application.

Implementation requirements:

- Established Business Entity (legally registered business or organisation)
- Operating an active, and Launched Service
- Maintaining a minimum of active users (at least 250k MAUs)
- Being available in key Spotify markets
- Commercial Viability
- Adherence to Terms

Screenshot of a Mastodon post by Steve Troughton-Smith, on Jan 20, 9:27 AM:

> As a European software developer, it's really hard to plan what to do next when there's the distinct, imminent and existential threat of all US technology and services being severed as a result of what seems like a nigh-inevitable schism between the US and Europe. Your iPhone is a paperweight without App Store Connect and codesigning, despite the EU's best attempts to force Apple to open it up. And every bit of technology you have has a shelf life, a mean time before failure. Then what?
