Been having a lot of fun in Sanma. I do have to get back to regular 4-player mahjong next. :P

I am developing a theory

A triangle diagram labeled "The Mahjong Manga Trinity", used to sort mahjong stories by their mechanics.

In the top corner, labeled "Magic", is "Saki".
In the bottom-left corner, labeled "Cheating", is "Legendary Gambler Tetsuya"
In the bottom-right corner, labeled "Strategy", is "Tetsunaki no Kirinji".
And in the middle is "Akagi".

Where's your favorite mahjong manga?

Playing mahjong with random handicaps with friends. No one knows what people have/can't do. But it's a chombo if you don't do it

Crazy how the #habs look so much better when actually playing defense instead of squirming around. Give us more of this next games!

Seeing Laine training with the #habs is great. Hoping to see him on the ice for a game before christmas.

Really want to rank up in #mahjong on #ffxiv I don't like the fact people only play the east only instead of a full 2-wind game. Oh well.

It's all about risk vs reward. I was pretty happy with a guaranteed mangan that I was comfortable to throw that dora to complete the itsu. No one had opened yet so the odds of getting Ron'd were low.

Zoone @zoone.bsky.social · 12/08/2024

#mahjong club meetup yesterday. 5-sou is the dora 1,2,4,5,5,6,7,8,9 sou in my hand (another chi in my hand + pair) discard 5-sou & declare richii. -> weird looks at the table tsumo, ippatsu, itsu, dora, uradora x2. :) It was all downhill from there but I liked that hand.

Mahjong 🀄 club meetups are fun and all. But nothing beats having 3 friends come to your place and slam some tiles down with food and drinks.

Day 1 of the Montreal #Riichi Open. 1st, 1st, 4th, 4th, 4th. Currently in 20th out of 31 at -25.70. It's been a learning experience with highs and lows.

Had a beautiful hand that didn't win today in #mahjong. Would've been San Anko for a Mangan if I Ron'd or a Suu Anko Yakuman if I Tsumo'd. Alas....

counting Fu is just confusing to me. and then you have to cross reference the scoring table... gah... I feel so unprepared for the tournament June 1-2 🙃
