Goddamnit... Lanterns totally pulled a Surf Dracula.

Oooh I hadn’t thought of chili crisp

Sometimes I'll add a bit of hot sauce for a good kick. Or some spicy BBQ sauce if I want a touch of sweetness. My favorite thing about it is how easy it is to customize and not get bored.

Savory oatmeal is the best. Here's my super lazy version: - 1/2c 1 min quick oats - 1-2 tbsp southwest seasoning - 1 tsp salt - Handful of grated cheese - 1 egg (scrambled)

Fun is a distraction from productivitymaxxing! If you aren’t monetizing, you might as well be dying

Oh shit they have an adobo flavor too!

I’ve never seen that particular flavor and now I must find it at all costs!

I immediately shared this with my partner who is a Library Branch Manager and finishing up their MLS degree.

I don’t think this was an option back in 2017

I want induction so bad... I used to be a gas stovetop supremacist until I used induction. If we ever replace our stove/oven, I'm seriously debating capping the gas line there and going induction.

When I made mobile games, our execs had this brilliant idea to put a QR code in the game for support requests. It made it all the way through development and was like a week out from being added to several games before someone asked "How can the phone scan a QR code... on itself?"

When something like this happens and it’s not clear… I choose to assume whimsy

This is Sweetums. He was a feral stray that started coming by our house over 2 years ago. He was rough as hell when we decided to bring him in. Today he’s the picture of health and the most chill cat I’ve ever had. He knows how good he has it. Backs away from any open exterior door every time.

Yes! I find cooking and baking to be a very zen like experience. Especially if the recipe is fiddly

Bekah recommended a recipe that she said were almost indistinguishable from the donuts we would get at the cider mills around MI. So I’m hopeful!

Last night I made a really tasty butter chicken. Next weekend I’m going to try my hand at making cider mill donuts (impossible to find in Texas)

As things have wound down at work steadily over the last year, I've had a lot more free time on my hands, especially in the afternoon / evening. So I've been cooking a LOT more. And I can see the improvement clearly. Very satisfying. Best part? AI can't do this. Can't even pretend to do it.

It's something Meta announced a week or two ago and has been desperately promoting it ever since. No one wants it.

That show is extra in so many ways. Best word I have to describe it is "indulgent"

Lets get some arts grants going then for game developers in NYC!

It seriously bums me out how far this site has fallen

I've been on the edge with you guys ever since the Valnet takeover and you started in on the bullshit vague clickbait article headlines... but this garbage? This both-sides-ism for what is clearly a sexist, gamer gate gooner campaign is just too far. I'm done.

Also.. you can often buy these sorts of things directly off the Asset Store or Fab. So you pay a real person real money for work they did that you don't want to do. And I bet it's cheaper than the AI token cost to ask Claude to do it for you.

2140

Ok, you've taken this whole Burrito of the Damned thing too far this time!

There's that too. For a long time I was convinced I wouldn't live past 25

000

Thankfully by 24 I let go of that very bland and rigid plan and took a risk that landed me in this fantastic career, which lead to everything else.

000

At 20 my plan was to work in a datacenter in IT Ops, racking & stacking servers as a career. It was the obvious path. It was the "easy" path. I also didn't expect to ever get married, travel much, own a house etc. But that was OK. It wasn't going to be exciting or amazing... but it'd be OK.

Mike Crassweller @zoomba.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

20 yo me simply could not imagine the life I've had at 44. Every assumption was wrong. Every plan not how things ended up. I had very low ambitions for my life. 20 yo me would be absolutely stunned at the fantastic live I've had so far. A career in game dev. Lived abroad. Married an amazing person.

Man, math texbooks are a LOT different from when I was a kid...

Oh I missed this gem earlier... Who knew that paying people predictably is what kills creativity?

120

This is a special level of unhinged. I bet the pay is terrible, the hours long, and management is probably toxic and insane.

1130

Sites that have infinite scroll should NOT put important links like to the jobs page at the bottom

031

This sounds like potential Blue Prince DLC...

The only reason I don't think that is because outside of Minecraft, Blizzard was the only other truly bright (profitable) spot in the entire Xbox division last year.
