To be honest, anyone can do the art I'm doing. Given more time I'd be able to invest more detail in the portraits. Most artists will have dayjobs as well as their artistic practise, like me. Mine just happens to be acting in @totoroshow.bsky.social

Some of the shorter sketches from yesterday's #lifedrawing session from @tmld.bsky.social. I love how the 5 minutes sketches are so loose and ghostly, compared to the tighter drawings later

I remember having a discussion with some1 about how I couldn't be a good artist because I'm already an actor. He believed you had to specialise to be the best. I believe in not telling myself "no" I didn't tell him I was also a published photographer, a Guinness Record Holder, had 3 plays performed

Happy 37th Birthday to My Neighbour Totoro, released in Japan on this day in 1988.

The bus stop scene from My Neighbour Totoro (1988). A country road in the rain. A bus stop. An older girl with a red umbrella and her younger sister on her back. Stood next to them is the ancient forest spirit, Totoro - large, round, grey and furry.

His NY resolution was to draw every day. I suggested getting an A6 mini sketch pad so he could carry it with him. I found him/
