Jim Henson would’ve been 90 today. An absolute hero of mine. I remain gobsmacked that puppets crafted by his company feature in one of my plays. I like to believe that Chu Totoro’s blue fur is the same as Cookie Monster’s and that makes them cousins.
Chu (blue) and Sho (white) Totoro as operated by the kazego puppeteers of the My Neighbour Totoro company.

"...sources say that this adaptation will feature actors speaking in Olde English." The play is written in Early Modern. If they mean Old English, that's the language of Beowulf, which would make no sense if set in renaissance Verona. Do they just mean 'Shakespearean'? Why phrase it like that?

‘Breakthrough’ as Turkmenistan starts fixing ‘mindboggling’ methane mega-leaks
Secretive state begins repairs on ageing facilities after being revealed as worst country for leaks of potent greenhouse gas Turkmenistan has started plugging the mega-leaks of methane that spew from its ageing oil and gas facilities, the latest UN data shows, in a move hailed as a breakthrough. Methane, also called natural or fossil gas, is a potent greenhouse gas. It traps 80 times more heat than carbon dioxide and causes 25% of global heating today. Stopping leaks can be quick and cheap and, because methane breaks down in the atmosphere far quicker than CO2, this has a rapid impact, with some experts calling it the climate “emergency brake”. Canada erects giant ‘Lake Ontario’ sign as spat with Trump over name escalates
Meanwhile, Trump posts video of himself kicking over a Lake Ontario sign and replacing it with Lake America sign Donald Trump and Canada continued a verbal duel on Saturday over the US government’s administrative renaming of Lake Ontario, with the country erecting a giant sign saying “Lake Ontario. Now and Always” – and the American president posting a video of him tearing down an avatar of that sign, erecting a replacement saying Lake America, and dancing to YMCA. Rhetoric over the naming of Lake Ontario is the public face of an escalating trade dispute between the US and its northern neighbor involving a 50% US tariff on Canadian steel and retaliatory tariffs from Ottawa. Said goodbye to a family friend today. Someone who was a very large part of my childhood. Every grief reaches back and shakes hands with every preceding one. It’s a cumulative thing, gathering grief - it’s one of the ways we age. But it brings love close to the surface too - which is important.
