It just occurred to me: why the hell did anyone start evolving fair skin in the first place? I get that they don’t *need* as much sun protection if there isn’t that much sun where they are, but why not just stay dark?

If you love a webcomic, consider doing two things: 1. Personally recommend it to one other person 2. Comment on pages You have no idea what these small things do to help a comic grow! Peer-to-peer is how a fan base is built, and comments boost engagement, setting the comic up for more success! 💖

I'm considering putting the rest of chapter 4 of Maho Noir on hold while I restart ZR.

Wrote an xmas arc. it's seven strips. Need to finish up some Maho Noir pages. Might take some time and do some ZR sketches this week, though.

John Wigger @zombieroomie.com · 08/08/2026

I think the ten strip arc for Zombie Roomie is more important than the seven strip arc, so it'll be first. Tomorrow, I'll start writing the Xmas arc.

A reader who had a few cameos in Zombie Roomie's universe passed. Feel for his friends who became his family.

For some reason, my Google products believe I'm in Arizona... and my phone constantly has been telling me it's 114 outside. I'm like no it's fuckin' not! Do not wish that bullshit on me, phone.

For some reason in the original script I cited the early 2000s instead of the early 2010s as the era when simply acknowledging the medium or format (being meta) was enough to be counted as a joke all on its own. www.patreon.com/darlingsnarl

I've written seven strips for Zombie Roomie. I'm not committing to drawing them, yet... but when I'm ready to they should be in a good space. I've done a second draft on them and I'm going to do another before any drawing is started.

Yeah, I'm pushing for a different feel to Maho Noir than ZR had/has.

It's so fucking hard to get anyone to read a webcomic. Any webcomic, but especially one people haven't heard of before. I feel like the only way people pick them up is if they're repeatedly recommended one by other readers (not the artist) but you gotta have some readers who will do that first.

A battle between good and weevil #comic #minicomic

A minicomic. A man with a bushy beard and plaid shirt looks conflicted. A red weevil with devil ears on his left shoulder says, "You should eat through that bag of grain." An angel on his right shoulder says, "No, you should not." Watermark says bob-artist.tumblr.com

Panel 1:
Kimura Ran returns home at dawn after surviving a supernatural attack and losing her left hand. Sitting alone in her small apartment with her arm in a sling, she reflects on the emptiness of her detective’s life.

Panel 2:
Kimura Ran sits on the edge of her bed at sunrise, exhausted after the night’s violent supernatural encounter. She wonders how losing her hand could possibly fit on an invoice to a client.

Panel 3:
Close-up of Kimura Ran lying back on her bed in her apartment after surviving the attack. Morning sunlight filters through the blinds as she reflects on the “miscellaneous damages” from the case.

Panel 4:
A loud apartment buzzer interrupts Kimura Ran’s attempt to rest after the supernatural incident. Startled and exhausted, she turns toward the door in her dim apartment bedroom.

Error fixed. It was caused by an update to the theme and my weird website was looking for things that were removed in the update. Maho Noir's site is pretty custom, so the general stuff isn't always going to jive with everything done for the rest of the userbase... So I'm not upset. I get it.
