Ghh--?! (Pain. A long-since forgotten sensation. He remembered to smile before his form disappeared into smoke, the Ascian appearing again behind him.) Oh, I think not. Not yet, anyway. I say, you're quite sensitive about them these days...for a man who tossed them aside.

What's all the hostility for? Did we not use Asahi and Izumi both? The two of us? We gave Izumi what they wanted. They don't have to know the truth of our affections. Isn't ignorance bliss~? They don't even remember my deeds! The shock of "Asahi" all but killing them must have been too much~

... (Shrug. He smiled.) Oh, come now. Look at this face, this body! How else do you think I got them to cough up those funds we used for the civil war in Garlemald~? I played lover. Same as you, might I add, as of yesterday.

And yet, you act the p... (The height difference was quite noticeable. It was times like these he missed his former body, but he doubted it would have made much difference in the end.) ...How ironic, all things considered. You turned a blind eye to the worst of it already, as well you know.

...hm. That /is/ a change. Still...what? You're going to follow around your former tribuni instead? Or perhaps you intend to keep an eye on me~? Your warnings mean little to me, spoiled little princeling~

Oh, how scary! Bit too late for that, I'm afraid, and I can't quite picture you taking a break from chasing that /friend/ of yours long enough to play bodyguard.

Ah, are pleasantries lost on you? Let me see, plainly... (He feigns thought on the matter.) I meant to imply you're quite snide for a little brat~

Aren't you a bit young to be so...candid~?

Possessive, are we? What a surprise! You didn't seem to mind when they were /mine/.

Nothing more amusing than watching you and yours, really. I suppose I could go back to the little dogs you let loose, though.

To think milord remembers my name after all this time~! I may well weep tears of joy! ...what else but to see how things proceed, now that the final days have been evaded once more? Pity that.

Betrayal! What a terrible word...! (He stumbles back dramatically, clutching at his apparently wounded heart) A change of plans, really. Didn't it work out in the end?
