Today's the first day of early voting in Virginia, and even if we may have a fairly safe senate seat, there's still some super important stuff on the ballot. Amendments to codify abortion, remove the (dormant) gay marriage ban, & auto-restore voting rights after time served are up. Please vote!!

WPBL broadcasts have gotten so much better since opening weekend. Stronger commentary, stronger production, still great baseball. I really wish there were better ways for me to keep track of the league when I can’t watch though. Somebody please give me WPBL live activities.

"It's just sports," "It will only affect a few people," & "It'll also be used against cis women" are, IMHO, all equally not-great takes on today's SCOTUS ruling, just different angles. The Supreme Court ruled it's okay to discriminate against a certain class of people. Full stop. That is a horror.

I learned today that one of my dear friends, Lyra, has passed away due to an illness. It was 29. I will miss it so much. Lyra was incredibly kind, caring, & friendly. We could talk both about silly computer things & deep trans stuff, and go deep with both. It will always have a place in my heart. 🧡

Happy #TransDayOfVisibility! I came out publicly a year ago, & was stunned by how much support I had from everyone. Since then, as my close friends could tell you, I have really blossomed, becoming more of who I want to be. Visibility is freeing. I'm so glad I don't have to hide myself anymore 🏳️‍⚧️🧡

I still gladly voted for Spanberger over Sears on my VA ballot, and you should too if you live here, but I've been pretty disappointed how she tries so hard to avoid even mentioning trans people, even when directly asked. Amongst those who are "on our side", we're still being othered and devalued.

The streaming ad load for MLB playoff games broadcast by Fox/FS1 is bizarre. It has many normal advertisers: Capital One, Liberty Mutual, the iPhone. But sometimes has some odd stuff I think they're pulling from Fox News' inventory, like "patriot" survival food kits w/ a QR code tutorial. Just weird

As a colorblind person, the Fox HUD to show the bases is basically unreadable to me. I guess they're different colors? But the contrast is almost nonexistent for me.

While I think Newsom's pushback against the president is good and welcome... as a trans person I sure don't trust him at all. I'm nervous of the Democrats turning against us, as has happened with much of Labour in the UK. And rallying around Newsom has me worried we're going in that direction.

I'm reminded of this clip from the great @theabigailthorn.bsky.social, from her fantastic video about problems with the UK's trans healthcare. "gender dysphoria" is, for medical and legal purposes, just "the thing trans people have". No cis person has ever received a gender dysphoria diagnosis.
