Went down to Wellington's south coast last night hoping to get a glimpse of a G1/G2 class aurora. No cloud, no moon; perfect conditions. Mate's DSLR picked up a red glow on the southern horizon, while his brother was in Invercargill seeing yellow curtains in the sky.

This is still shaping up to be the most MMP election since 1996. Unlike 1996, it is likely to be the first time in over a hundred years that a new party enters Parliament without a former MP. There's a lot more disgruntlement than gruntlement.
