The running is awful. I don’t mind double tap to run in games. But it feels particularly terrible here. The OST is pretty great so far.

Raider Kid and the Ruby Chest beat! Such a cute and well made microvania Super cute GBC aesthetic, great map, many secret passages, decent amount of items and power ups (one of which surprised me), fun bosses, and a pretty great final boss Packs a ton in less than two hours. Loved my time with it

I still had some fun with the game (definitely towards the end), it has good ideas, and it is very pretty to watch all the fun animations. It has the framework of something interesting, but I don't really think it shows its true promise until the end, and I'm just left somewhat unsatisfied by then.

Your gobble also functions as a parry counter for an instant kill on minions regardless of health and their tells are very obvious. So you'll pretty much be gobblin' everything with little fear of every taking damage.

You gobble up enemies to get essentially shield health, but this extra health is also your mana for you weapon special attack. Which sounds like it would be a balancing act. But there are so many enemies in the stages (even in boss arenas) that you are practically invincible and can still use magic

Gobble feels like an arcade game but removed of anything that makes it replayable. A gobble high score, number of gobbled in a single gobble, high score in general, time attack, boss rush, no-damage/no-mana mode. Literally anything would have made this feel like a better offering.
