John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I love it ! It’s not meant to appeal to those with an F Pace diesel. 020
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 21/09/2026As a former Citroen Synergie owner ( one of the Eurovan 1 derivatives ) I totally get the concept. I’m off to check out colour options, avoiding the greys and silvers. 010
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 21/09/2026@brownest-ant.bsky.social Would the “actually smaller” van be an upgrade, at least aesthetically ? ( People carriers / mini vans being instantly better than SUVs by default anyway ). 020
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 07/08/2026Lower ducktail spoiler - 1973 911 RS Upper spoiler - 911 930 turbo Everything else, a long weekend in Amsterdam chilling out more than was sensible. 110
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 07/08/2026They attempted to copy Porsche’s homework and didn’t quite get it right. As a way of wafting around, it’s pretty good. 220
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 26/05/2026I’m doing that very thing as we speak. I mostly use it for heating but right now am using it for cooling, because it’s free. 070
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 04/05/2026It’s all a load of detailing waiting it’s time to go wrong. All of those flashings contribute to a future repair bill. Meanwhile, owners with now old and redundant chimneys quietly get rid of them and slate / tile over where the used to be. Planning and aesthetic considerations notwithstanding. 120
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 03/05/2026Five years of being an EV driver must have changed me. ( I still have other things) 110
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 03/05/2026I used to be a regular at motor racing, as a spectator, a marshall, on the organising side of things. Having not been in years, I went yesterday. All these engines warming up before their runs. I don’t know if I like it as much as I used to. Cold engines and wild cams - unburnt hydrocarbons. 121
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 08/04/2026A smaller wheel makes all of the difference on an A2. Also, you did pay for those wheels 😎 110
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 16/03/2026When mine arrived with DS25 in the reg, I was quietly delighted. 130
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 16/03/2026It’s a love it or hate it car and I’m totally on board with many (yourself included ) not being on the “love it”bus. People will talk about that time Hyundai did the mad ugly streamliner in years to come. 140
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 14/10/2025We have a time of use tariff, solar, batteries, EV. For 2024, our entire energy costs for the house and running the car were under £700 With extra storage, I can get that down quite a bit. 010
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 13/10/2025I gave away my KV25-f1. Actually advertised it for a price to ward off freeloaders, and make sure it went to someone who appreciated it. When he arrived, he was very pleased to be buying it at the asking price and even more delighted when I told him that it was actually free. 020
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 06/10/2025It’s possibly a national mindset that those of us in Europe shouldn’t try to understand, because we won’t. Having said that, cars here are getting far bigger than they need to be as well. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 I drive would once have been thought of as behemoth. My Wife’s Skoda Citigo is all we need. 120
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 09/09/2025I know Richard of old, in a manner of speaking, @brownest-ant.bsky.social Richard has had a few motors over the years. 020
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 08/09/2025It felt exactly like what it was. A Cortina with a slightly rakish body. Do I wish I’d kept it ? Of course. Paid £600 for it. Gave it away. Hen’s teeth now. 010
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 08/09/2025It’s a wee while since I looked in. I can’t believe how bad the back axle was. 100
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 08/09/2025Well, I didn’t expect to see two makes and models of cars in here that I used to own. As well as the A2, I also used to have a Ginetta G26 220
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 06/09/2025Evoque though the photocopier with the feeder a bit squiffy. 010

John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 27/07/2025Someone should tell him about the 453TWh generated by wind power in the USA last year. 040
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 18/07/2025It’s great what people can achieve in the absence of a dissenting voice telling them “it can’t be done”. Also, much as I’m now a committed EV driver, I love the sound of a triple. You can like EVs and engines. John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 13/07/2025I’m in Scotland. Our AC went in a few years ago at modest cost. Our solar pv and batteries did too. If it’s hot and sunny, our AC runs for free. If it’s cold enough to need heat, the AC does that too. The time will come when we look back in amazement that not everyone had that. 0170
John F @zilspeed.bsky.social · 13/07/2025Ok, That added nothing to the conversation. Have a great day. 110
