Based on some feedback I’m seeing from dedicated cat rescuers in LA who’ve had to evacuate- I’m doubling down on keep your pets in carriers/crates overnight if at all possible. In both cases they had to evacuate in the dark due to power outages. Everyone got out safely, but it was high stress.

It's so nice when they act right at the vet. I had a boy who'd howl the entire time, upsetting everyone; Ziba lounges around like she owns the place & accepts tribute (pets) like a queen 😂
