14 outdoor cats depend on us daily for food/water. Tomorrow, we start rationing food. Donations have decreased dramatically. I get it…everything is expensive. 😔 These aren’t the cute kittens. These are cats that were left behind, born in wild. A bag/box of food? www.amazon.com/registries/g... #cats

The First Amendment defined the right to free speech and a free press. But a free press doesn't just happen. It's something we must protect. Your support is essential to our ability to provide journalism that upholds your right to know. Donate now: n.pr/4hgyjzz

Statement on White House bans from Thomas Evans, NPR’s Editor in Chief: Barring journalists from the White House because the president dislikes their reporting is a blatant violation of the First Amendment, and NPR condemns it without qualification.

The American public has a right to know what its government is doing in its name — not only the coverage a president finds flattering, but the full and accurate account of the use of power and public resources.

That right belongs to the public, and it is not the president's to revoke. The press, and specifically public media, exists to conduct that accounting to every American, in every community, in service to the public interest.

NPR and our Member stations will continue to uphold these First Amendment rights, and to stand with any news organization targeted for its reporting.

I just looked this up and found that at Chili’s ,the server shares 3-5% of the sales to the support staff. That means they receive 20% tips, pays out 5%, and keep 15%, while most of the work is done by the support staff. This isn’t logical. What did I miss?

zhicali.bsky.social @zhicali.bsky.social · 30/12/2025

Point taken. It wasn’t a fancy place. I just took my family to the local Chili’s. :) I paid the tips, but I don’t make enough to not notice the tips amount on the bill, thus I don’t eat out often.

The foods were actually brought out by a different person from the kitchen I guess). So the $35 tip was for the less than 10-minute interaction . We paid the tips, but honestly, it didn’t feel worth it at all).
