People keep referencing the game clock vs. broadcast clock and I think it’s an important distinction to make that the clock in the score bug between each team’s scores does not factor into this at all. The clock in the lower left-hand corner in NBC’s replay is the scoreboard clock.

This is not what happens. They performed a strobe-based sync on all of the cameras prior to the game. Even if it were true, why would they perform a second, more-accurate sync hundreds of miles away that only they had access to? And what special magic would they use to do that?
