My "creative" bucket list for the year ahead: 1. Write a book (2 actually!, 1 novel, 1 biz book) and publish on Amazon 2. Scenario for a Netflix series (yes, aiming high!) 3. Release 3 already/fully planned concept albums. 4. Produce 1 music video/month for my existing songs

I made it happen anyway 😁 Solo! (see my prev post for background) My first-ever video, made with various video generation tools. It’s not perfect! I left every flaw in on purpose. Call it my perfectly imperfect debut 😄 Paradise… I’m in Paradiseeee… #musicsky #musiciansky

few weeks ago, a mutual friend introduced me to a well-known music video producer. We hit it off creatively and got surprisingly far… from casting and location scouting to writing the full scenario (gosh!) for what would’ve been my very first music video #musiciansky #musicsky

Thank you S. 🙏 this wouldn’t have come to life without you 🙏 I won’t tell anyone that #10, the “Preparty”, was just you going crazy at the studio, and me reengineering it to match your perfection! —- who the f*! can play 9 instruments so f*ng well, omg!!!

S.: You’re not scared of failure. You’re scared of being unforgettable and still feeling empty. Me: That’s… oddly accurate! S.: I’ve met your demons. They drank with mine. Me: Is that why you stopped performing? S.: I didn’t. I just ran out of stages I felt I belonged to

I’m tired of trying to 'be' on social media. I know I should post more to get my music heard, but honestly it’s just not my thing... I’ve proven that to myself a hundred times

Sometimes I feel I am the living version of Bridget Jones, minus the Mark Darcy, minus the Daniel, but with all the questionable decisions, dodgy actions, inappropriate comments... (but plus always a half-written song in my head...)

I fear one morning I’ll wake up to find having posted a summer hit on youtube that I don’t even remember making 😂😁🤷🏼‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Zhaina Blair @zhainablair.com · 11/06/2025

I either need to dismiss this idea or drink a little less… 🤦‍♀️

After a couple of early-evening GTs, I convince myself I should do a JLo-style summer hit… oh yeah, why not! 💃 the scary thing about this thought is that I will probably do it 🤦💆😃🤪

Zhaina Blair @zhainablair.com · 10/06/2025

This is the original version: youtu.be/7L1Q0imu1C4 Honestly, I thought it was a solid composition and arrangement until S. said what he said, and I followed his advice (yeah, he did the keyboard too 😎) This is a perfect example of how one well-trained ear can reshape a song completely… #musicsky

this one has a story... I first wrote this song in a country style… guitar, rhythm, a bit of swing, you know. And I was really proud of it.

or maybe belting opera on grand velvet in Rome. somewhere between Janis Joplin and Maria Callas. yeah, I wouldn’t have minded that life at all 😇🙋‍♀️

110

Zhaina Blair @zhainablair.com · 02/06/2025

Sometimes I think I wouldn’t have minded being born in the 60s. Wild hair, raw voice, singing backup (or stealing leads, so like me 🤦‍♀️✌️) in a smoky, soul-drenched band. Maybe something between Fleetwood Mac drama and Nina Simone depth #musicsky #musiciansky #indieartist

This song is about me, my own self. youtu.be/NaWoc8yK0xo I’m not lost. I'm somewhere between the person I buried and the one I haven’t met yet. This one’s for all of us in-between. This is my own song. Not lost. Just becoming. #indiemusic #ambient #Jazz #singerandsongwriter #musicsky #musiciansky
