The awful stuff with Level5 and Professor Layton reminded me they released another Detective Grimoire game recently, so I picked it up and played it. The Mermaid Mask was a lot of fun, just like Tangle Tower was! Thoroughly recommend the series to anyone interested in mystery/puzzle games

the game funnels you directly to where you need to go, giving you access to the exact shortcut you need right when you need it. I never felt like I had to exercise a lot of skill in navigating the world on my own, so I kinda stopped trying and just enjoyed the action spectacle of each area

I had a lot of fun with Metroid Dread, but I enjoyed it more as an action game than a metroidvania, if that makes any sense

They put out an official zelda timeline after skyward sword's release that tried to arrange all the games released up to that point chronologically (with timeline splits and everything). Once Breath of the Wild released though, they pretty much abandoned it. It's mostly just a fan curiosity now

I guess AAA development has just gotten to the point where it makes less and less economic sense to make new games from scratch, Nintendo included. You might as well just keep adding additional updates to the games you've already put out there that have an install base
