It's interesting playing F-Zero in 32:9 aspect ratio because you start noticing the relationship of one part of the track to the others. Also is that the tilemap of the Mode 7 background repeating which wouldn't normally be visible in 4:3 over on the left here?

3 days old, belly full of milk and snoring. Our 6 month old dog is obsessed with her new siblings and being so gentle and sweet, loving on each of them. It's been heartwarming to see.

Listening to friends talk about a song or movie they lost their virginity to when I made the realization that I lost mine to F-Zero X. Yeeeeah, Samurai Goroh was my wingman. By the way, playing it in mega ultrawide at 240hz is insanely fun. (Don't let this be the one that escapes containment.)

So, all the work on my arcade machine this weekend was a success, even if it didn't always go as smoothly as I hoped. It's nice knowing that a lot of the things that annoyed me that most wouldn't see are now fixed.

Today's arcade work - hooking up the internal test/service switches to the buttons on my subpanel so that I can trigger test/service from the actual proper internal buttons if I want to followed by dremeling out some plastic so that I can install a wireless charger in my fake NESICA card reader.

Coin mech finally properly wired up with the built in piezo speaker destroyed so it no longer beeps loudly when it gets powered up on boot up. Coins wired up to my select button on the sub panel, so you can insert a token or hit the panel button if you want.

Just pulled out miles of my previous terrible wiring done years back from my arcade machine control panel. Basically had to get the fighting stick cable to get proper L3 and R3 buttons so figured I may as well do the rest. Can't tell you how much cleaner this looks.

PSA: uBlock Origin's EasyList has an AI Widgets option that doesn't get turned on by default, including if you had other EasyList items selected already before it was added. Enabling it removes a number of various AI buttons, nags, prompts, etc. across various sites.

This weekend is going to be devoted to fixing up some stuff in the arcade machine. Molex crimping tool, a Noctua fan to replace the one in the machine that has a broken fin so it makes a slight bit less noise, redoing the control panel wiring, redoing the coin mech wiring, cable management.
