I had the Mario plush with the wing cap item on, I might even still have that too. :O I moved so much though I dunno. lol But damn those Zelda toys are so legit, dude! By the way, I feel awkward showing it off but this was another child me white whale I got last week. bsky.app/profile/zero...

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Dude I never seen this before, they look rad as fuck! You had these? As a kid I remember craving Nintendo toys, I absolutely desperately wanted some. I think I even cut out Link and Mario etc from magazines and played w/ that. lol I never knew they had toys in that era! That’s awesome.

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Like this: youtu.be/5stDGP0e05A I remember it very clearly because even at my young age back then that hype for Episode I was insane. I dunno if part of that was b/c I wasn’t even 10 yet and to kids everything seems bigger lol but damn I never experienced hype like that ever again. Zelda toys? :O

NEO: The World Ends With You get! Found it on sale for a good price and finally bit the bullet. It was a pain to get it on Switch since the PS4 edition is usually $5 or $10 cheaper so I had to wait for quite some time until I found the NSW edition at a similar price. Heard great things about this.

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Home media haul for September! This month was largely anime w/ 3 really gorgeous special edition blu-rays to boot. Had some all timers I been dying to add to my collection forever like Angel’s Egg, Monster, and Zegapain, as well as new classics like Look Back. Overall a lot of REALLY GOOD stuff.

000

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Another big get for me this month was Gundam Requiem for Vengeance which I imported from Japan. I have every Gundam series physically so while I’m not super into this one I couldn’t resist adding it to the collection. It is an insanely gorgeous release though! lol bsky.app/profile/zero...

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Star Wars Mandalorian and Grogu … *siiiiiiiigh* I bought it. I bought the Glup Shitto movie. Gonna keep collecting SW movie steelbooks as I have been doing for the last decade. Now buying the TV shows? No, I’m good. lol But movies, I’ll keep collecting them. I guess. ;’D

000

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Pic 4: Some recent steelbooks. Back when there was that whole debacle of 28 Days being super out of print I like a sheep lol really wanted to watch it again. Cool to see it back on print, cool to see how much effort went into converting it into 4K, and cool for my weakness of steelbook collecting.

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Pic 3: Treasure Island anime, this was my only get from MediaOCD’s last Discotek Deep Dive initiative but it was worth it! Holy crap this is gorgeous!!! Insane production value for ‘78, Osamu Dezaki was a master of his craft. I’m watching an ep every night before bed and it’s been a highlight.

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Pic 2: Sentai had another great sale and I was finally able to get the Clannad blu-ray I been eyeing for some time. Also since Discotek is doing Penguindrum soon I figured I’ll get the movies when they’re cheap.

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

First pic: DanDaDan Season 2. I really love these TV anime releases from GKids, the turn around for them is so quick, and the price is insanely cheap! I also think the packaging is really nice, I love the uniformed look of the yokai forms for the spines so far, hope they keep all of this up!

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Wow is it October already?! Totally lost track of the end of September there and forgot to catalogue some of my collection last month as I like doing on this app. lol Guess I’ll just do a lightning round of my physical media pick-ups right now to make-up for it. So … here’s everything else:

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

I swear I wasn’t even 10 when Phantom Menace dropped lol but those toys are such an in grained part of my memory. My brother and I had a SW magazine subscription and we followed the toy catalogues and we got all the weirdo and rare toys. We were the Glup Shitto kids! It was our childhood obsession.

101

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

That was a different line. When Episode I dropped they switched to a new line where everything came with those voice chips, do you remember that? :O The gimmick was getting those chips that had like 1 recorded line on them and you could use the toy of Qui Gon’s communicator to play said recording.

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

Were you into the toys? My brother and I were joking about not too long ago that our childhood SW toys were so freaking weird. XD It was this refresh of the toy line where everyone was jacked as shit for no reason whatsoever. Just cause. It was the 90’s, baby! Any millennial of that era knows it.

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

I think that’s it though, I felt comfortable with Steam never going out of business back then where like yeah no, I’m not trusting Epic or Ubisoft’s store to be here ten years from now. Still though, Steam actually does have the worst DRM so I really should go with GOG nowadays.

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

Chrono Trigger Form-ism figures of Chrono and Marle get! I bought these so long ago I forgot about ‘em and was shocked I had a box waiting for me when I got home today. lol Anyways, they’re gorgeous! Absolutely perfectly capture Toriyama’s incredible art style. Instant add for my SE shrine shelf.

000

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Reruns were bigger back then. I grew up w/ a rotation of Transformers, GI Joe, & especially Ninja Turtles. All 80’s stuff but it felt like my stuff too. Those were my favorite until the Star Wars special editions (I know they’re heinous crimes lol but that’s my intro to SW) then SW was my childhood

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

GOG is the goat. I should use them more often but a lotta time I get end up buying on steam during their big sales. Maybe that’s hypocritical of me. lol

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

I think Mr T works best as friend not foe. Maybe it’s just me. lol I love how cheesy Ivan Drago is too. “I will break you.” Plus he kills Apollo stakes are way higher! I … I might’ve gotten a little too excited about what we were saying earlier tho. I swear I’m a 90’s kid! bsky.app/profile/zero...

110

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Welp this might just be my most Unc purchase. I might even be encroaching on Boomer territory here even. 😓 The hype from seeing the movie in theatres last weekend was just too damn strong though, I been thinking about it all week! So yeah, I broke down and bought him when I was shopping. YOLO.

000

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Yeah, that’s how I feel too. I also just don’t like the current set-up of digital ownership. I should own my games indefinitely. If I was certain I can preserve my own digital back-ups then I would like digital way more! I don’t wanna lose my comics, movies, vidya b/c fuck you the liscense is over.

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

The campiest one I can give you (which is awesome lol) but I dunno, I’d pick IV over III any day. It’s way more hype. Well damn, anyways, if you catch the movie on a streaming service or something, check it out. It’s cheesy, it’s epic, it’s got gorgeous 80’s Toei animation. I will die on this hill

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

I mean I was the guy in forums that every week when Nintendo announced the new Wii Virtual Console releases would be like “Come on Lufia, come on baby!” so despite me wanting a physical it would be hypocritical of me now to knock a digital release. lol

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Yeah dude, the composer who did Rocky IV, with all those insane bops like Eye of the Tiger, Heart on Fire XD, they got him to do the this! It goes so fucking hard. I’m not kidding, it’s half rock opera, just banger after banger hard rock music tearing up every other scene. youtu.be/srh9aX-6rUM?...

Yeah, I hope Lufia gets a physical too. lol Those games are really good, everyone prefers the second game, which is a lot better if you're being objective, but I always had a soft spot for the first. Dude I waited the entire Wii for them too. I really wanted them to come to Virtual Arcade. lol

I ... I think I'm gonna get the Limited Edition for that. I keep saying I will swear those things off ... but Terranigma is one of the best games I ever played in my entire life and I never thought it would get a NA release so ... It kinda deserves this! You know. ;'D

It's actually really funny despite the fact that he's serious all the time. Pretty much he is canonically the most beautiful person in the game and I mean it. LOL Everyone in my party wants me and they all argue about me like I am in a harem anime. But all I want to do is fight.

110

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

But for real, like 20 mins into the movie Optimus and Megatron have their final fight and both die! It's so damn good too. I am liking Transformers stuff a lot on bird sight so if you still can use it, like damn, look at this. That shit goes so hard brother: x.com/anddelirium/...

It's infamous even in psychology b/c nobody knew kids would actually be that attached to fucking cartoons back then and suddenly an entire generation needed therapy watching Optimus Prime die on the big screen in real time. After that shows like these started to consult child psychologist. lol

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Damn son, it's legendary! Hasbro was refreshing their toy line so they went "out with the old in with the new" when they made the movie. Almost all the previous protagonist die, and pretty graphically XD, in the movie and the new younger cast (with brand new toys to buy!) stand to take their place.

110

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Hhmmm I think you can still get it new from Europe with the PEGI rating on it, but you’ll probably end up paying like $30 in shipping thanks to our awesome president eroding like 30+ years of free trade on the internet in 10 minutes.

“Sorry man, I’m not familiar with juicy steak, my only food experience is eating out of the pig trough.” SMH Dude, you gotta watch the movie one of these days, it’s the greatest 80’s rock opera ever made. And insanely gorgeous 80’s Toei cinema animation. And everyone infamously dies. lol

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Nah man, I’m talking about the GOAT the original ‘86 film. That’s a core part of my childhood! It was the 40th anniversary last weekend so it played in theatres again. Honestly a dream movie exp for me. FE is incredible too but I barely scratched it. I picked Dietrich BTW. bsky.app/profile/zero...

That said when vidya drops a sick ass steelbook I am there. lol I bought someone’s used special edition of Rain Code on the cheap b/c I didn’t want any of that other shit in it, just this steelbook. Absolutely gorgeous. It’s proudly on my shelf. lol

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

I have so many steelbooks for movies I separated my collection between the regular cases and the steelbooks. But I think movies are way better at doing this. I am always tempted by how great and unique these steelbook covers can be. Also a pic of some of my faves that you can’t get anywhere else.

000

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

I stand by it. In my experience most vidya steelbooks are just promotional artwork being reused. When I buy something w/ a special cover I want just that a SPECIAL cover. I want unique art that has never existed before and not some marketing art they used for promos that they already had on a drive.

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

I’m probably the only dude in the world to immediately put these two blu-rays together. lol Every masterpiece has its imitators.~ In The Aftermath is definitely a strange hack job from a begotten era of how anime was treated in the west, but it’s weirdly all the more fascinating to me b/c of that.

000

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Angel Egg special edition from GKids. Another gorgeous set that lets Yoshitaka Amano’s art shine. One of the most surreal, chilling, yet beautiful anime put to film. Incredible to finally have it back in print after so long. The history of Oshii chasing this bird still fascinates me to this day.

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Look Back special edition from GKids. Absolutely gorgeous set for a wonderful handcrafted film about what it truly means to create art. This is still one of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s most raw and personal works and the anime is a perfect adaptation. The Making Of book and faux animation cell are gorgeous.

Now it’s my turn to say my bad. ;’D I had a lot of errands to run and was out most of the weekend. Then I had a bout of forced family socialization I was dragged too on top of that. And then when I was home yeah the siren song of FE was too alluring. lol Also I watched the Transformers movie!

100

Thomas @zerodestiny.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

Personally the Romancing SaGa 1 Remake is my favorite NSW case format steelbook. I flipped it open when I took the pic b/c it has great art on both sides. I actually love steelbook collecting too but (thankfully?) most vidya steelbooks are crappy. lol Movies though? I probably got at least 50.

100
