A faster robot doesn't always win. In SIGNOS: AI Robot Builder, one of your story opponents relies on speed. But speed alone isn't enough. Your AI needs to make the right decisions, too. Sometimes, a better strategy beats better hardware. #indiegame #gamedev #RobotGame

11 days until Steam Next Fest! SIGNOS: AI Robot Builder is joining! I’ve been fixing bugs and improving the demo based on player feedback. Still a few things to polish before the event. Hopefully without breaking anything. 😅 #SteamNextFest #indiegame #gamedev

Same robot. Different AI. Different fight. In SIGNOS: AI Robot Builder, you build your robot’s AI with “Thought Tiles” before battle. Once the fight starts, you just watch. If you lose, changing the AI can change the outcome. #indiedev #gamedev #indiegame

The AI can now tell a wall from a destructible obstacle. In SIGNOS: AI Robot Builder, outer walls used to be detected as obstacles. I added “Wall” as a separate search target, so the AI can react differently to each. #indiedev #gamedev #indiegame

GameFoliage reviewed the SIGNOS demo! Really happy they enjoyed the moment when a robot follows the logic you built—and it actually leads to a win. The review is in Japanese, but I’m very happy to see SIGNOS covered! gamefoliage.com/2026/10/05/s... #indiedev #gamedev #indiegame

Yep, Steam demo. I’m mostly working with Steam’s playtime stats right now, so yeah, even a rough event log would help a lot.

Yeah, it does. I show the parts build and AI tile setup before the battle footage. I definitely don’t want it to look like an action game.

I reworked the teaser for SIGNOS: AI Robot Builder for Steam Next Fest. The game itself is fairly quiet and methodical—build the AI, then watch it run—so for the trailer I leaned into the flashy side: robots, weapons, and battle effects. #indiedev #gamedev #indiegame

Not really. I can see the playtime, but not what they actually did in those first 10 minutes. So I’d just be guessing.

Yeah, a lot of them seem to have bounced pretty early. A few stuck around longer, but most didn’t stay very long.

zeoperdise.bsky.social @zeoperdise.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
Mostly a trickle, from what I can tell. I didn’t see a clear spike after any particular post. The free-license count kept climbing, but actual launches barely moved. That gap was the surprising part.

zeoperdise.bsky.social @zeoperdise.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
The SIGNOS: AI Robot Builder demo just passed 1,000 free licenses on Steam. …but only 22 unique users have actually launched it so far. Free licenses and actual players are very different numbers. I knew that, but seeing the gap this clearly is still surprising. #indiedev #gamedev #indiegame

Heavy equipment can make your AI slower. In SIGNOS: AI Robot Builder, more weight means fewer actions per turn. So even with the same CPU, a heavy build may fail to finish its logic and carry processing into the next turn. More armor and firepower isn’t always better. #indiedev #gamedev #indiegame

In SIGNOS: AI Robot Builder, you can’t really blame bad luck when you lose. Same robot, same AI, same opponent = same result. Even weapon spread uses a fixed seed. Lose, change one Thought Tile, run it again—and see what changed. #indiegame

Got a localization pitch for SIGNOS: AI Robot Builder — with a twist. They offered to translate the Steam store page into Turkish for free, no strings attached. It’s live now. I’ll watch the response before deciding whether full Turkish localization makes sense. #indiegame

A tutorial in SIGNOS: AI Robot Builder said “around 5 degrees.” But players actually need to set it to exactly 5 degrees. I removed “around”… then had to fix the same wording in 12 other languages. One tiny change, 13 languages to update. 😅 #indiedev #indiegame

I've been polishing the SIGNOS: AI Robot Builder demo. Over the past two days, I fixed blurry 3D battles on high-resolution displays and added more character expressions to the story mode. The game is complete, but there's still room to polish the details! #indiegame #gamedev #indiegame

Since releasing the demo for SIGNOS: AI Robot Builder, I've been polishing the early game. I added more character expressions, improved attack effects, and updated the Steam screenshots and video. The core game is done, but I still want to give players more reasons to keep going. #indiegame

In SIGNOS: AI Robot Builder, the story mode teaches you enough to build an AI that can fight. But it won't teach you how to build a strong one. Figuring out why you lost, tweaking your logic, and trying again is up to you. Demo out now on Steam! store.steampowered.com/app/5097530/... #indiegame

Exactly. Getting it to fight is the easy part. Getting it to win consistently is where the real game starts.

In SIGNOS: AI Robot Builder, the story mode teaches you enough to build an AI that can fight. It doesn’t teach you how to build a strong one. That part comes from experimenting, losing, and rebuilding. #indiegame #gamedev

Why I'm not shipping in September, even though the game is basically done: I had 13 wishlists. Launching into that means nobody hears about it, and launch day only happens once. So I'm sitting on a finished game for two months — using them to fix where players get stuck. #indiedev #gamedev

I’d probably wait the full week first. Segmenting by weekday feels useful once there’s enough data to justify it.
000
zeoperdise.bsky.social @zeoperdise.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
Yeah, that’s a good distinction. I’m usually just treating the first few points as observations, not predictions.
000
zeoperdise.bsky.social @zeoperdise.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
Yeah, that makes sense. I’d probably treat three points as a hint and wait for the broader pattern.
100
zeoperdise.bsky.social @zeoperdise.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
Yeah, probably just a few independent signals. I don’t really have a strict number in mind.
000
zeoperdise.bsky.social @zeoperdise.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
Exactly. One spike is interesting, but repetition is what makes it useful.
000
zeoperdise.bsky.social @zeoperdise.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
No fixed number there either. If the same pattern keeps showing up across different days and sources of traffic, I’ll start taking it seriously.
200
zeoperdise.bsky.social @zeoperdise.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
Honestly, I haven’t set a specific sample size. For now, I’m just watching for the same pattern to keep showing up as more data comes in.
100
zeoperdise.bsky.social @zeoperdise.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
That’s a good way to put it. A wishlist is still a small decision someone made, even if they never say anything.
000
zeoperdise.bsky.social @zeoperdise.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Yeah, I’m paying more attention to playtime and wishlist conversion at this stage. Bug reports are useful, but the sample size is still small, so I don’t want to overreact to individual comments.

zeoperdise.bsky.social @zeoperdise.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
One thing I didn’t expect after releasing the demo: I thought I’d be busy replying to feedback and bug reports. Instead, most of the response is silent — wishlists, playtime, impressions. Releasing a game is quieter than I imagined. #indiegame #gamedev #indiedev

SIGNOS: AI Robot Builder actually started with a top-down 2D battle view. I built and tested the battle system there first, then added the 3D presentation later. Same battle, same logic — just a very different way of showing it. store.steampowered.com/app/5097530/... #indiegame #gamedev

The most time-consuming part of this project wasn't the AI or the logic system. It was checking how the parts look together. 10 heads, 9 cores, 10 arms, 11 legs, all different sizes and attachment points. Over 300 joint combos, checked by eye. Nobody will ever notice #indiedev #gamedev #indiegame

Bought #gladiabots after hearing it compared to mine. Genuinely good, and on sale now. The tutorial design was the useful part. Teaching logic-building before someone knows what logic does is hard, and it handles it well. SIGNOS: AI Robot Builder store.steampowered.com/app/5097530/...

The very first wishlist for SIGNOS: AI Robot Builder came from someone in #estonian. I have no idea who you are. But knowing this thing got found by someone that far away, before anyone else, is still one of my favorite moments of the whole project. Tere, Eesti #indiedev #gamedev #indiegame

I mostly left it as-is. I made a few last-minute tweaks to the tutorial text and UI, but I decided not to cut any major features. At some point I figured it was better to get the demo through Steam review and see how real players react, rather than keep second-guessing everything.

Someone on Japanese gamedev Twitter featured SIGNOS today and compared it to Carnage Heart — a PS1 game where you program robots and watch them fight. Never played it. Didn't own the console. But being placed in that lineage feels good. #indiedev #gamedev
