Resident Evil movie wasn't what I thought it'd be. It works as a return-to-form and you've got equal-parts horror, campy schtick, tragedy, and the thrill factor, but I wish it set up for more. I'm one of those people sad we didn't see an Umbrella logo. The third act though... Hard to read that.

Saw this on Reddit, but I have a very hard time believing it's the JPN side and "royalties." Unless they have to license each dang vol, what wonky clause in the terms allows for retroactive "give us more of a cut"? First it was the printer in China prioritizing larger orders and now royalties. 🤔

Beltorchika's Children Vol 4 is now delayed until June 2027, making that 2.5 years since v3 came out). It was originally slated for Feb and Nov of this year after the 2025 delays. Had they have kept to their six month release schedule the series would've been done by now. Ridiculous for the fandom.

You'd probably be hard-pressed to find it used for anime prior to the commentary, but it saw general use at least as far back as the 70s. I think it was probably just a coincidental coinage to describe the scenes (memories) as isolated snapshots rather than continuous (animation) narratives.

Kinda bummed they didn't use the scenes from the pilot films for Requiem in the actual show. The Zeon bloke getting taken out from an exploding piece of armor plating from the Magella Top is a hell of a shot.

Huh, so "Flash Gundam" was apparently the working title for Gundam X, according to Tokita, and his new manga is a nod to that. Interesting how he's rather explicit in stating, "I think it's better to think of this less as a sequel to the TV series and more as a sequel to my version of Gundam X."

I don't see the manga industry doubling its rates when other industries (medical, legal, patent) have been in a steep decline for almost 2 decades. TL vets have been exiting for other fields for years now because corporations have been driving down costs by hiring someone cheaper, quality be damn.

So, uh... if anyone is looking at the Gundam Wiki for lineart, I'd take some of their lineart updates with a giant grain of salt. For whatever reason, it seems users are "AI-enhancing" or "upscaling" (whatever) tinier images, resulting in some really wonky design tweaks, subtle as they may be.

It's honestly taken me far, far too long, but the first volume of Fukui's version of Turn A Gundam is now done. 250 pages for this beast... and I shudder to think what my final count for the second volume will be. Heck, my translation of Unicorn V1 in college didn't even hit 200 pages! *cries*
