One thing that I find extremely interesting about thancred is that he is always trying SO HARD to be a good person, to the point where it actually hurts his endeavors. He views being a Good Person as a status, a crowning achievement, something static, as opposed to A Constant Series of Actions

Also kind of a sidebar but still re: Ishgard, I think bc of the limitations on being permitted to freely heal, and due to being a nation at war, AND DUE TO HAVING AGRICULTURAL BACKGROUND, Ishgard has. Pretty good medical care. I think they’re very fast and efficient at patching people up
