I used to teach adult ESL to classes comprised of 80-100% Somali students, at a learning center in a Somali neighborhood. I walked to & from the train station, the latter at night, and I never felt the remotest bit in danger. I love my Somali neighbors, they make MN great. Fuck what Trump says.

From NASA 📍Gale Crater, Aug. 11, 2026, 8:30 a.m. local Mars time. The Curiosity rover captures the Sun rising on crags known as yardangs, a scene that scientists have long been waiting to see up close.

When the tech wheeled be back to my room from x-ray, her keen eyes saw a tiny gecko in the hallway. She seemed torn between getting me back or the gecko out of harms way. I told her that I didn't mind and watched as she took the lizard outside. 😊 There's still a lot of good out there!

@mikililmo.bsky.social, @27badfish.bsky.social & @theforestcrow.bsky.social I was so miserable when I wrote that post.🫣 I'm back to my ever-present mantra of Everything's Temporary and grateful for still being around & able to find all these new bruises. Thank you all for taking the time to reply ❤️

I'm going to leverage your ability to scroll with my need to whine. 23 Sept - 06 Oct: anniversaries of the deaths of a legendary furry guy, our oldest son and my grandmother. Monday, my spouse was scheduled next week for a need asap surgery. Today our car was totaled and I have a broken collarbone.

Bluesky police reporting for duty! Seriously, guys, not running someone else down is the bare minimum, especially if they’re struggling. Nothing wrong with cheering for the small victories as well as the big ones.
