I made this the other night while procrastinating, mainly because I thought all the posts about the blackout were boring. It feels like there is momentum bringing people together!

A poster for the economic blackout on February 28. It is a big red Jack rabbit on an aqua blue back ground. It says economic blackout in hand done black type. There are two black speech bubbles. One says “don’t buy stuff Friday February 28th. The other says we have power. Below it says No Amazon, Walmart, target, gas food, gas. Below that it says OK small business, use cash. Designed by Martha Rich.

This is why you don’t surrender in advance. The flagrantly illegal can be stopped. It sucks that it’s falling to ordinary workers, not, say, the police, or Chuck Schumer with an NBC camera crew manning the line. You know, the ppl whose job this actually is. But they can be stopped.

Remember, everything on the internet is forever - even for the government. A useful resource is the nonprofit internet archive website Wayback Machine. web.archive.org Check it out! It’s pretty fun 🤩

Drawing from life last Halloween. Two 20-minute sessions.

This image developed from a time of feeling angry and hopeless about greedy wars and power hungry leaders. Thank you to model, and sweet friend, Mabel Roberts, for helping with this piece. May you all find hope and strength in the pain.

stopped posting on all other platforms long go, but feeling inspired to start fresh here. I absolutely love figure art. Here’s a figure study assignment I did for a figure drawing class.
